Statement From The Artists:

We rely heavily upon nature to survive, still, it is normal to destroy it through our daily movements. Nature doesn’t know about us because we have forgotten reflection. Nothing nature does seems to be good enough for us. It is normalized to overlook the natural world while operating within an individualistic society.

The positioning and content of the text invites the viewer to bask in soft lighting while considering their role within the present moment. Sunlight activates the installation; the light being ancient and ever-present The amber film covering the windows serves to warm and intensify the sunlight that filters into the space. It takes moments for the viewer to invest themselves in this piece. To listen to nature is to listen to oneself. Referencing Ugo Rondinone, “There is a world alongside ours—boundless, unhurried, interconnected...and we are only temporarily in it.” We have become disconnected from the voice of the natural world. For how long will we ignore this voice?
